THE COMPANY

Ichnusa Lines was established in 2021 by two long-standing Genoa-based companies, the Finsea Group and the San Giorgio del Porto shipbuilders, respectively operating in the fields of logistics and ship repairs. The sea is the common ground which unites their business and backgrounds.

These shared business values led to the creation of Genova Trasporti Marittimi, the company which now manages Ichnusa Lines. It is an entrepreneurial challenge which offers passengers the opportunity to sail on a splendid, unique sea. Yet as the Bocche di Bonifacio prove, it can also present difficult conditions. Crossings are accordingly navigated using a ship designed and built for the purpose, offering outstanding seaworthiness even in rough seas, thanks to its state-of-the-art stabilising system.

THE FLEET

Nave Ichnusa was constructed in the Castellammare di Stabia shipyard in Campania by Fincantieri. Launched in 1985, it is 64 metres long and 13 wide. It has two stabilising fins, a technical characteristic designed to allow it to operate uninterruptedly in the waters between Corsica and Sardinia, a stretch which has always been subject to strong currents and coastal storms. Its structure also makes it well suited to short journeys; it has a single lounge area with a maximum capacity of 325 passengers, and a vehicle garage of around 200 linear metres which holds almost 50 cars.
