Our history
Ichnusa Lines was founded in 2021 by two historic Genoese companies, the Finsea Group and the Cantieri Navali San Giorgio del Porto, active in logistics and ship repairs, respectively. The sea is the common thread that unites their entrepreneurial stories, a shared vocation that led to the creation of Genova Trasporti Marittimi, the company that manages Ichnusa Lines today.
An ambitious project offering passengers the chance to cross a magnificent yet challenging stretch of sea, like the Bonifacio Strait. To handle these unique conditions, the ship was custom-designed, ensuring stability and safety even in rough seas, thanks to an advanced stabilization system.

Our fleet
Built at the Castellammare di Stabia shipyards by Fincantieri and launched in 1985, the Ichnusa ship is 64 meters long and 13 meters wide, designed to safely navigate the unique conditions of the Bonifacio Strait.
Thanks to its two stabilizer fins, it ensures a stable and reliable voyage, enabling it to operate continuously between Corsica and Sardinia, a stretch of sea known for its strong currents and rough seas.
