General Travel Information

Prepare for your crossing! Check out the frequently asked questions and if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, contact our customer service. Review the Transport Conditions for detailed information on travel regulations.

  • Foot passengers: at least 30 minutes before departure.
  • Passengers with vehicles: at least 1 hour before departure.
  • Passengers with reduced mobility: at least 1 hour before departure, with prior assistance request.

All passengers must have a valid passport or ID card for international travel:

  • EU citizens: ID card or passport.
  • Non-Schengen passengers: valid passport.

Boarding will be refused if valid documents are not provided.

The crossing between Santa Teresa di Gallura and Bonifacio takes about 50 minutes but may vary depending on weather conditions. We recommend arriving early for boarding to avoid delays.

Each passenger is allowed one hand luggage with maximum dimensions of 150x50x30 cm. Dangerous items or items for sale are not permitted.

Fares, Special Offers and Discounts

Yes, we offer discounted rates for residents traveling between Sardinia and Corsica. To take advantage of the discount, you must present proof of residency at the time of purchase and boarding.

Ticket Purchase

You can purchase your ticket online, at port ticket offices, or through authorized travel agencies. Be sure to enter your details and those of your vehicle, if applicable.

Yes, you can request date and time changes for regular tickets, provided they are made before the established boarding deadlines, as specified in the General Conditions. Changes depend on availability on board and may require an additional payment to cover the difference in price,, which will not be refunded. Changes are allowed only for departures provided by the Carrier. In the case of waiting lists, passengers without tickets for later departures may receive priority.

If you can’t travel as planned, please consult our pages on Complaints and Refunds to learn about the request process and applicable conditions.

In case of lost or stolen tickets, report it as soon as possible to the issuing agency or the port office at the time of departure. A duplicate can only be issued if the original ticket hasn’t been used yet and upon presenting a valid identification document.

Onboard services and Accessibility

Onboard, you will find relaxation areas, bars, and restaurants. There are no cabins on short routes, but there are restrooms and covered spaces for passenger comfort.

Yes, we offer assistance to passengers with disabilities and with reduced mobility, in compliance with EU Regulation 1177/2010. It is important to request assistance at the time of booking and to arrive at least 1 hour before boarding. If necessary, an accompanying person may travel free of charge.

Yes, pets are allowed onboard. Dogs must wear a muzzle and leash or remain in a carrier, while cats and other animals must travel in suitable cages provided by the passenger, since Ichnusa Lines does not provide cages onboard.
It is mandatory to have an updated health booklet.
Guide dogs for people with disabilities travel for free and may access the internal areas of the ship.

Special Rules for Passengers and Vehicles

Vehicles must be declared at the time of booking. If your vehicle runs on LPG, you must notify the boarding staff and arrive with a half-empty tank.

Minors under the age of sixteen must travel with an adult and may not move independently onboard. If the minor is not accompanied by parents or guardians, written authorization from the parent and a copy of their ID are required. Passengers between sixteen and eighteen may travel unaccompanied, with a signed waiver from a parent and the necessary documents.

Yes, pregnant women beyond the sixth month may travel, as long as they have a medical certificate issued within two days before boarding. For complicated pregnancies, the certificate is required regardless of the month of pregnancy. Boarding is not allowed if the birth is expected within seven days or if it occurred within the previous seven days. See all travel conditions for pregnant women here.
