Best time to go and what to bring

The best times to explore Sardinia by motorbike are from May to June or September to October, when the weather is mild, the days are long, and the roads are less busy.

Be sure to pack breathable summer technical gear with wind protection, a puncture repair kit and basic tools, a water supply, offline GPS (especially in inland areas), and a paper map as backup.

Any motorbike will do, but a tourer, naked, or a light enduro are ideal for tackling the different types of terrains and for covering long distances comfortably.

Exploring Sardinia by motorbike means diving into a land of strong contrasts, where time seems to slow down and every curve brings a new thrill. From famous coastlines to hidden villages nestled in the mountains, the island offers routes that leave a lasting impression. All that’s left is to start the engine, put on your helmet, and follow your instinct.

And remember, if you’re a member of the Italian Motorcycle Federation, from April 1st to June 30th and from October 1st to 31st with Ichnusa Lines you can enjoy a 20% discount on your ferry ticket between Santa Teresa Gallura and Bonifacio, in both directions.
